Mar Gas came and installed the propane tank to the west of the garage. Then the guys from Ted's Plumbing came and turned on the heat, just in time for the cold snap.

Water Guys

The water guys from Patterson Plumbing and Heating came and installed the water equipment. It will be filtered, softened, and the kitchen drinking water will be purified through the use of the reverse osmosis system.

Blue Walls

We started to insulate the walls using the blue foam that was left over from the insulation that we put on the foundation. This wall is between the second bathroom and the laundry room.

Got Rocks?

Dan, with the help of the bobcat, moved some of the bigger rocks alongside the driveway in order to stop traffic driving in that area and hopefully the native grass will return.

Garage Door

We bought a Martin Garage Door and it was installed last week.

Merry Christmas

We are off to Golden to celebrate Christmas with Zac and Jennie and Jeremy and Stephanie and Noah.

Wires

Dan has been helping the electrician with the wiring of the house. The inspector came by yesterday and passed the electrical rough-in. Yeah!

Blanket View

Yesterday we woke up to this "blanket" view of the valley. What a gorgeous day it was.

Roof

These pink balls are "tracks" from the roofers. This crew was good about cleaning up when they finished.

A&A Satellite

Luke and his helper, Nicole, from A & A Satellite came to install wiring for TV, Internet, telephone, and for other low voltage applications.

Blue Tag

The plumbing inspector came and gave us "The Blue Tag" which means that we can now get propane. The tank will be delivered next week, hopefully.

Water Pressure Tank

The water pressure tank was installed in the utility room today.

Roofers

The first to arrive today, were the roofers, finally! They will finish up tomorrow.

Trucks

Trucks, trucks, trucks everywhere. There were 2 more in the back of the house. It was a beautiful day for working at Dilley. There were eleven people here at different times during the day.

Covering the Cement

We bought 4 X 8 sheets of hardboard to protect the cement floor, which will be stained after the drywall is put up. This is in the great room. After we fit them into place and taped them, some of them buckled, so we hope the extra weight will help them to straighten out.

Pulling Wires

Framed

The crew finished up the last of the framing and we are ready for the inspection.

Ready

All of the pipes or lines are in and we are ready for the next plumbing inspection.

Pipes

Pipes, pipes, and more pipes.

Boiler

This 95% efficiency boiler will provide all the hot water for the house, both for heating and domestic use.

Hot Water Tank

The utility room is starting to fill up. We now have a 40 gallon hot water tank.

Temporary workbench

The temporary workbench that Dan built today using his new toy, a nail gun, is located in the mudroom.

Boxes

Since our concrete will be stained, we spent today taping cardboard together to protect the floor.

The Last Window

We finally got the remaining window installed last week. I took this picture tonight to show the beautiful sunset I saw. I spent the day installing door handles on the exterior doors and foaming many of the cracks and crevices that I found. More foaming to go. Tomorrow we will be pulling the electrical wire from the meter to the house.

White Christmas

What a wonderful way to start the Christmas season. We went to see Irving Berlin's "White Christmas" at the LaComedia Dinner Theatre.

puzzle

This 1,000 piece puzzle kept us entertained. Can you spot the missing piece?

Wall Hanging

This beautiful quilted wall hanging, one of three designs, was made by Mom Heismann. She made Christmas wall hanging for each her children and grandchildren.

Christmas in Ohio

Mary, my sister-in-law, and I helped Mom Heismann decorate her apartment for Christmas. The barn was the first building in her collection.

Windows

Our framers showed up today to put in the last three windows. They were able to install the windows in the two extra bedrooms but the windows for the Great Room were missing the mullion to tie them together. The total size of the Great Room window is about 7' by 9' so it had to be made in two sections. We stapled plastic over the opening to keep the wind and dust out of the house.
