Plumbing

These pipes lead to the vent for the second bathroom.

Hole in the Wall

After drilling the two inch hole in the wall, Dan is digging out the foam. This is to allow access to the conduit in the wall..

Tub/shower Unit

This tub/shower unit will be in the second bathroom. The trailer sure made transporting this unit easy.

The Last of the Panels

Finally, the missing panels were delivered today.

The Last Frame Up

Dan is leaning on the wall that was framed last. This will become part of the island in the kitchen.

Birthday

The crew, Caesar, Alex, and Roberto, finished framing on Thursday. We celebrated Caesar's birthday before they left. Hopefully, they will return next week to put in the missing panels and the windows.

Hole in the Roof

A pellet stove is on order and will be in the great room. The hole in the roof and the pipe and black box needed to be installed before the framing inspection.

Windows

The window openings in the great room are getting a "window lift" due to panels that were made incorrectly.

Eyes

Soffit

Alex is hanging the soffit in the master bedroom.

Arches

Arches, arches everywhere. Actually there are now two in the framing stage. The first one that you see is in the mud room, notice the barrel ceiling. This is where we will sit down, change our shoes & hang up our coats. The second one is in the great room.

Eyebrows and Corbels

The two smaller south facing windows now have "eyebrows" and corbels.

Columns

Columns on the back porch were finished today.

Shelf

This shelf is above the closet in my office/craft room.

Here you see Dan removing nails from boards that were used to reinforce the framing while the trusses were installed.

Framing and Cleaning

Front Gables Completed

The crew started early (7:30) and completed the front gables. They stopped at 3:00 and will return on Monday to complete the framing on the inside.

coffee stain

Oops! The crew has been very careful about not spilling things on the floor, since we plan to stain the concrete. However, Bryon's coffee tipped over in the kitchen. Luckily it landed right next to the north wall where the cabinets will be located.

Back Porch

The cooler weather has arrived here at Dilley Ranch Rd. Roberto is sweeping frost off of the back roof.

Roof Panels

All of the roof panels on the south side of the house were installed today.

Preparing

The crew spent several hours preparing for the roof panels on the south side of the house.

Modifying Panels

In order for the panels to all fit, Roberto measured, cut, and "shaved" the foam so that the panel will be snug in its final resting place.

Roof

The garage is the first area to have a roof on the north and south. The last panel was put in place right about dark o'clock today. The north side of the house also has roof panels in place. Notice the clouds to the east, shades of pink in those stormy looking clouds.

Unplanned Skylights

Due to an error at the factory where the panels were made, we have some unplanned skylights. Bryan, and his crew will fill in the holes with OSB board and foam will be sprayed into these four areas to correct the problem. They are in the north part of the house where the utility room and laundry room are located.

Measuring

We measured and put down boards and cardboard to see where our "island" in the kitchen area will be built. Jen came to measure for the kitchen cabinets. We are having Brooks Brothers Cabinetry make the hickory cabinets.

A visitor

Renee, our neighbor from down the valley, came with her "girls" today to visit and see the house construction. Nice, nice horses.

Roof Panels Installed

The first of the roof panels were installed on Thursday. We're hoping for more of our great Colorado weather to get the rest of the roof panels installed.

Roof Panels

Roberto is unloading the roof panels which were made in Ft. Collins.
