Desert Gardens RV Park

This RV Park, one of many, is where we are spending a month. Loving the warm temps!

Color

A bit of color adds sunshine to the RV. Thank you David and Rita for the flowers!

Petroglyph

This, petroglyph, located in the museum, is the only one that we saw in the park.

Petrified Wood

We stopped at the Rainbow Forest Museum and saw some exhibits of petrified wood, fossils, and prehistoric animals. The varied colors came from minerals in the silica saturated waters. Iron, carbon, manganese, and sometimes cobalt and chromium produced patterns and blends of yellow, red, black, blue, brown, white, and pink. It weights 200 pounds per cubic foot.

Painted Desert

On our way South, we stopped at the Petrified Forest National Park in Northeastern AZ.

Mule

This two seater "mule" turned into a four seater. Notice the back area - good for hauling garbage cans, wood, tools, branches, etc. There are 4 seatbelts, so come on over and take a ride!

Pavers

Loading and unloading the pavers took place the day before the snow came.

Drawer Skeleton

Dan has decided to build the drawers for the master bedroom dressers instead of ordering them. Today he put together the first "drawer" (4 sides of the drawer).

Snowshoeing

It was a beautiful day for snowshoeing around 856 Dilley Ranch Road.

Santa's Helpers

Our plans for Christmas include a trip to Golden to be with our family, Zac and Jennie, Jeremy, Stephanie, Noah, and Ryder. We will gather at Zac & Jennie's in the afternoon on Christmas Eve. We'll exchange gifts and have dinner. On Christmas Day we will celebrate with the Browns (Jennie's family) in Sedalia. We look forward to spending time with these little helpers. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Before and After

Clearing out some of the trees has made a difference in our view down the valley.

Burning

Since it snowed about 3 inches, we decided that the conditions for burning were good, so we tended the fire for about four hours before the wind started to gust. We had our first winter "picnic" while we watched the pile burn. Dan put some water from the well into the water tank so that we would have plenty to put out the fire completely.
