This segment of our trip was all about the many, many wheat fields we saw along the way. As the picture shows, these fields were everywhere, on even the steepest slopes. There was no irrigation for these wheat fields so they must have had good moisture for this year’s crop. In any event, they make for some interesting landscapes.
We stopped at the Hell’s Gate State Park just south of Lewiston, Idaho, for the night. We drove up river to take a look at the petroglyphs at the Buffalo Eddy on the Snake River.
