Smelting Pot

Anaconda was founded in 1883 by Marcus Daly, one of the Copper Kings. This smelting pot was a welcome site at the entrance to Anaconda. The town was a melting pot of immigrants chasing the American dream. The Anaconda Copper Mining Company became the world’s largest supplier of copper.
