Ft. Seward

Ft. Seward, the first permanent army post in Alaska, opened in 1902 and shut down in 1947. It was bought by a group of war veterans and they turned their dream into reality by creating an arts and commerce community. Hotels, restaurants, art galleries, and recreation sites are in this complex today.
